Professions to Discover

Engaving

The profession of engraving artist will be presented by Céline Fuchs.

What is engraving?
Engraving is a technique that creates images by carving into a material such as metal, wood, or linoleum. Once engraved, the surface is inked and then pressed onto paper to print the design. There are different methods depending on whether the ink settles into the grooves or on the raised areas. This technique is used in illustration and art to produce highly detailed images.

Enameling

The profession of enameler will be presented by Vanessa Lecci.

What is enameling?
Enameling is a technique where an object, typically made of metal, ceramic, or glass, is covered with a thin layer of enamel, a glass-like substance. After application, the object is heated to a high temperature to fuse the enamel to its surface, giving it shine, color, and protection. This method is widely used in jewelry, ceramics, and decorative arts for its durable and aesthetic finishes.
